Cyber Security in Banking
Something that I found interesting this week was an article I read from The Guardian titled " Online criminals attacking HSBC 'all the time', says head of UK arm". It talks about how HSBC which is one of the worlds biggest banks is always under cyberattack and that cybersecurity is one of its biggest expenses. HSBC handles about 1000 payments every second and a thousands of system updates to make 8000 updates to its system every week. I found this article interesting because it shows how serious and nonstop cyber security threats are especially when it comes to finance. It also shows how even some of the biggest companies with a lot of resources still have to do a lot to stay protected. article: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/may/20/hsbc-uk-ian-stuart-treasury-select-committee-banks-cybersecurity?utm_source=chatgpt.com
